okay I just have to spell it out one more time how this movie gave aggressive, arrogant, generally associated with all things dudely Thor a character arc where he had to learn how to be humble and think of how his actions affect others and acknowledge and APOLOGIZE for his mistakes. To be “worthy,” Thor had to cast aside all the selfish  dudebro warrior tendencies he learned growing up in Asgard and learn how to see when to admit his bad judgment and ask for forgiveness from the people he hurt instead of solving problems with more fighting. This could’ve so easily been a movie about a macho dude who was stripped of his masculinity (via his status/power) and ran around punching things to earn it back, all while wooing some earth girl with how big and macho he was. And it was the exact opposite.

EVERYTHING WENT BETTER THAN EXPECTED WITH THIS MOVIE AND IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY. :D

I know there are people who don’t understand why this scene was cut, but I think it was cut because we can all clearly take away this same idea—that Clint was fighting like a bastard on the inside—in the fact that he missed at all. Think about it: Once he’s un-Loki’ed, he hits EVERYTHING. EVEN LOKI. He only misses with the gun and once with the bow with Nat because she out-maneuvered him. But clear Loki out of his head, and Clint can take the wings off a fly at fifty paces.

Dear writers:

There is no way that is the sound the shield hitting Loki’s hand makes. Ever. I’m certain.

“Thor Odinson. My heir. My first born.”

You know what I like about this? Odin says “first-born” about Thor, but his wording implies that he actually does feel that Loki is his “second-born”, not just “adopted”. Obviously Loki doesn’t know the truth at this point, and neither does the audience if it’s their first watch, but if you look back on all the wording Odin uses, he never mentions “adopted” or any of the sort. He re-emphasizes “you are my son”, even when Loki is crying and screaming at him. Perhaps Odin doesn’t know how to share love in the same way that Frigga or Thor do, but he CARES about Loki, though his parenting is flawed at times. But what parent isn’t flawed?

#i legit do not understand the hate odin gets #ok well i guess i do because some people deify loki as if he is a perfect woobie #when in fact loki is the one who is the asshole #odin made mistakes for sure #but throughout all of thor he repeatedly says loki is his son #he cares for loki 100000000% as his own child #i never got any other impression #he should have been honest #but he was trying to protect loki more than anything else by never telling him #at some point you know he stopped being ‘a plan for peace with jotunheim’ #to being ‘my son whom i love’ #and honestly i believe that moment was about .3 seconds after odin picked up that baby

I just got home from NYCC 2012. There was a lot to see, and a TON of awesome costumes, but this is the best one BY FAR that I saw.
